POSITION:            Summer Student (Non-Union Hourly Position)

LOCATION:   (2) Penhorwood Operations, (2) Timmins Operations

REPORTS TO:  Designated Site Supervisor

Applications for the Canadian Operations Summer Student program are now being accepted.

We are now seeking applications for our Summer Student program. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the sites and must be available for shift work as well as be able to work varied shift schedules as required.

Student positions will be allocated as equitably as practicable amongst qualifying candidates given the criteria set out below has been met. In addition, the Company will consider ongoing development, skill and abilities of returning students for assigned positions. The maximum number of seasons considered for returning students is four (4).

Participants in the Summer Student program will be selected according to the criteria listed below.

Applicants meeting the following criteria will be selected first to fill the available positions: 

·       Must be a minimum of 18 years prior to start of employment.

·       Must be enrolling or enrolled in a 2-to-4-year University/College or technical/vocational program in the fall of 2023.

·       Must be physically attending the University or College location full time.

·       Computer literate: Windows, MS Office, Excel, and ability to learn other Magris Talc software programs related to data entry, process equipment, etc

·       Demonstrated problem solving and able to follow detailed procedures.

·       Ability to work alone or as a team.

·       Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Ability to work in the mill collecting samples from the circuits, lab testing, basic routing maintenance duties, housekeeping, and other assigned duties.

·       Able to be on your feet for up to 12 hours and lift up to 50 pounds.

·       Various shift schedules including night shift, if required.
