Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Museum Director/Curator and/or designate, the Summer Student will assist with greeting, guarding, and event and programming for the Timmins Museum.

Duties:

• Assist with greeting and informing visitors about the community and the museum
• Assist with providing tours of the museum
• Assist with providing security for exhibitions and related activities
• Assist with supporting Museum events and programming
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• Previous retail, gallery and customer service experience
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability work in a team environment
• Fluency in English and French mandatory
• Experience working with children
• Current and clear and Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening mandatory
• Current WHMIS Certificate an asset

The Corporation will require that eligible students provide proof of current full-time attendance at an educational institution.

Students must also be returning to school in August or September of the same year in order to qualify for employment with the City.
