Tasks and Responsibilities
The Special events organizer will prioritize organizing Downtown Timmins BIA's signature event - The Urban Park. The Urban runs each Wednesday during the summer of 2026 with the length determined by the approved duration of the Canada Summer Jobs program.
In addition to the Urban Park the Special Events Organizer will work with members and groups to encourage and support events located within Downtown Timmins.

The Special Events Organizer will also:

• Provide input in the Urban Park budget
• Suggest strategies to increase foot traffic downtown
• Seek and draft funding proposals with management support
• Develop a schedule of events and themes for each weekly market.
• Work to setup and tear down the markets every week

• update and categorize local membership rolls and contact information
• create targeted newsletters for market participants and membership
• design templates for social media and newsletters
• develop content for social media and newsletters
• update and maintain the summer market programs for future years

Wages an Duration
This is temporary Summer Position. Salary is $18.50/hr
