Special Events Coordinator (Summer Student)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Special Events Coordinator (Summer Student) to support the planning and execution of a dynamic lineup of Chamber events. Reporting directly to the Manager of Business Services, this role will play a key part in developing, promoting, and delivering engaging experiences, including two business leadership camps for youth.
Responsibilities include:
- coordinating event logistics with vendors, suppliers, and attendees;
- supporting event promotion through graphic creation, social media engagement, and outreach;
- assisting with sponsorship campaigns to secure monetary and in-kind support;
- and developing event materials such as sponsorship packages and the annual report.
The successful candidate will also maintain accurate membership records in our CRM, and assist with registrations, invoicing, and attendance tracking to ensure seamless event delivery.
This role provides the opportunity for a summer student to contribute their technological aptitude, writing skills, design and research talent to a fast-paced, growing non-profit organization.
CRITERIA/SKILLS
- Good computer skills and experience working in Canva
- Above average communication skills
- Strong numeracy and literary skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under deadlines
- Personable, friendly, outgoing and highly motivated
- Ability to work independently
Working Hours – Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) 9a.m. - 5 p.m. (but flexible, depending on Chamber activities).
Rate of Pay $19.70/hour
19-week position starts as early April 20, 2026.
