MARKETING AND ADVERTISING COORDINATOR
Position: Marketing and Advertising Coordinator
Location: Timmins, ON
Classification: Full-time, contract

Job Summary

The Timmins Learning Centre is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Marketing and Advertising Coordinator to support the outreach and communications strategy of our programs, including our successful children’s one-to-one tutoring.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Executive Director and in collaboration with the Children’s Program Coordinator, the Marketing and Advertising Coordinator is responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring communications and promotional efforts that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Managing and maintaining the Centre’s social media presence across all platforms
· Designing and producing engaging digital and print materials, such as brochures, flyers, and posters
· Ensuring a smooth online registration process for children’s programs and acting as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians
· Supervising the Centre during tutoring sessions and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for learners
· Supporting the promotion and public awareness of programs and events in the community
· Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Education or a related field OR equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience
· Strong oral/verbal and written communication skills
· Effective time management and organizational skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media
· Experience working with children in an educational or community setting is an asset
· Fluency in both official languages (English and French) is an asset
· A clear Vulnerable Sector Check will be required upon hire
Candidate Eligibility Criteria
· Candidate must be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career or unemployed or underemployed and entering a new field
· Candidate must have not previously participated in an NOHFC funded internship
· Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
· Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada
· Once hired, candidate must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed
This position is proudly supported by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC).
Compensation and Work Environment
This is a one-year contract position, with the possibility of extension. The wage for this position is $22.00 per hour for 35 hours per week. Benefits include two weeks of paid vacation, 5 days of paid personal days, and paid time off from December 24 to January 1.
The Marketing and Advertising Coordinator will typically work afternoons and evenings to accommodate program needs, with the occasional weekend for special community events.
