Purpose
Reporting to the Manager of Procurement and Warehouse, you will be part of the Purchasing Department. You will perform all aspects of the buying function for the organization as it relates to inventory, non-inventory, and service purchasing. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Discovery Porcupine’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow the P2P Process;
• Follow the IBA and RDA process if applicable;
• Issue three quotes for items over $500 in value;
• Issue purchase order and ensure orders are delivered on time;
• Expedite past due / rush orders;
• Manage the purchase order follow-up with End Users;
• Issue change orders;
• Update ERP system with most updated and relevant information;
• Rectify invoice issues with vendors;
• Prepare RFQ’s, complete a fair & thorough analysis of the results, negotiate, and select suppliers based on the lowest total cost of ownership;
• Ensure suppliers meet cost, quality and on-time delivery criteria.

Training and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree, College Diploma in Business or Procurement;
• Previous buying experience;
• Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is an asset);
• Experience utilizing SAP;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
• Valid "G" driver's license

Compensation and Benefits
Competitive total compensation package including:

• Company contributions and matching into a Defined Contribution Pension Plan; and
• Annual total compensation of CAD$78,390 to CAD$96,835 (including annual bonus eligibility).
