The Ward Clerk reports to the Director of Nursing and/or delegate. The Ward Clerk contributes to the overall management of resident care by carrying out the following activities:
DUTIES:
Maintain resident health and administrative records
Coordinate and schedule resident phlebotomy services
Manage supplies for the Nursing Department
Perform tasks for and on behalf of residents, including escort, as assigned
Manage special projects as assigned by nursing administration
Participate in and support the City’s Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), by identifying opportunities for improvements in City processes with the aim of making processes as efficient as possible
QUALIFICATIONS
Grade twelve diploma with a two-year Office Administration with medical terminology component from an accredited Community College
Knowledge of medical terminology lab testing
Knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Current WHMIS Certificate required
Current and Clear Criminal Record Check with Vunerable Sector Screen
Ability to adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols and screening requirements
Salary Band Level 3: $23.54 - $27.69 (2021)
In accordance with CUPE Local 434 Agreement.
