Job Description:

Magris Talc is a leading Talc producer operating mines and processing plants in the United States and Canada.

We are currently seeking a Certified Millwright to add to our Mill Operations team at our Penhorwood Mill located approximately 70km west of Timmins.

(Travel allowance provided)

This is a full time, permanent, unionized, and hourly position. The 12-hour shift schedule for this position is a 5/5/4, 12 hour day shift rotation including weekends. We offer a competitive wage, and bonus plan complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits including travel allowance.

Job Summary/Purpose:

The preferred candidate for this position will have an Ontario College and Trades Certification with a minimum of 2 years work experience.

The Millwright is responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following all OHSA and Magris Talc Canada safety rules and regulations. This person shall maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

· Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools

· Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions, adjusting machinery, and repairing or replacing defective parts

· Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machineries

· Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations

· Sharpening and maintaining machine tools

· Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines

· Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation

· Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries

· Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances

· Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area

· Performing other related duties as assigned.

Other Important Functions:

· Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment

· Experience using PLC’s is an asset

· Experience of MiG and Stick welding

· Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.

· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics:

· Highly flexible, team player with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

· 12-hour day shift rotational work

Rate

· $43.69 as per CBA
