Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice-President, the Accounting Manager will assist the management team in administering a system of internal controls and professional accounting policies and procedures for the our group of Companies, but not limited the following:
General :
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Complete monthly financial tasks such as bank reconciliations, journal entries and account reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements
- Lead the year-end review process
- Oversee payroll and administer the benefits and pension plans for employees
- Other tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice-President
Accounts Payable:
Review and approve vendor invoices for payment in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Process cheque requests and expense reports on a regular basis
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions
Accounts Receivable:
- Receive and track customer purchase orders
- Review and approve customer invoicing
- Receive and process incoming accounts receivable payments
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- College diploma in Business Administration – Accounting or a university degree in a related discipline
- CPA designation or working towards would be considered an asset
- 3+ years experience in a busy office environment
- Strong computer skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
Preferred Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and knowledge of accounting software (Sage 50 Quantum)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and French required
- Clean driving record and own vehicle
